Reader's theater set
A reader’s theater is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Boyle County Library Community Room. The project is funded by the Friends of the Library.
Presented by local high school students, “Perryville Stories” portrays 18 residents and soldiers that experienced the Perryville battle.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
An interpreter for the deaf will be available if requested 48 hours in advance either by calling (859) 238-7323 or emailing library@boylepublib.org.
Library parking lot traffic disrupted
Beginning this week, the traffic pattern through the Boyle County Public Library parking lot temporarily will change. Patrons still can enter from either Third Street or Broadway, but must exit the same way. There will be no thru-traffic while workers begin to connect the existing parking area with the new construction. The outdoor book returns will be available, by walk-up only. Normal traffic flow should resume in 10 days.
Brooks to speak at Centre
New York Times columnist and bestselling author David Brooks will speak 7:30 p.m. today in Weisiger Theater at Centre College.
The pre-vice presidential debate convocation is free and open to the public.
Kids’ program set
STANFORD — Children of all ages and their parents are invited to “A Day in the Life of a Sheriff” from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lincoln County Public Library, 201 Lancaster St. The library plans events the first Saturday of each month to learn about the people in the community who help keep residents safe. Commodities distribution is Friday
Commodities will be distributed Friday at the Boyle County Fairgrounds.
Participants in the program should follow directions as indicated by station volunteers and posted signs.
Identification is required to pick up commodities and if the participant is sending someone else who is not already a designated authorized representative, they must have a signed note and identification.
Active clients can arrive at 11 a.m. and waiting list clients can arrive at 1 p.m. Participants are asked not to arrive earlier than 11 a.m.
