NAMI to hold vigil
The Danville chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness will hold a candlelight vigil 7 p.m. Monday at the gazebo at the Boyle County Courthouse. The vigil will be moved to Trinity Episcopal Church in case of inclement weather.
Congress established the first week of October as Mental Illness Awareness Week in 1990 with the goal of ending the stigma associated with mental illness, ensuring better understanding of mental health issues and improving access to diagnosis and treatment.
