Boyle County Alzheimer’s family caregiver training 

Boyle County Alzheimer’s family caregiver training is a program designed for those who have a friend or family member diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Local and statewide experts in aging and Alzheimer’s care will present about Alzheimer’s disease, caregiving basics, legal decisions and how to care for the caregiver.

The program will take place from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Boyle County Extention Office at 99 Corporate Drive. Registration is $10 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Registration is required by emailing infoky-in@alz.org, or calling (800) 272-3900.

 

Business plans grand opening

Kathy Brackett, a nationally-certified and Kentucky-licensed massage therapist, formerly of Touch Therapy, will have a grand opening of Cloud-9 Body Works from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Hustonville Road and Lincoln Avenue.

Several vendors will be on hand, including B.C. Foster’s BBQ and Radio Rick of Hometown Radio network, broadcasting live on Z105.

Registration for several door prizes will be offered by Cloud-9 Body Works, Hometown Radio network, Illusion’s Hair Salon, 31 Purse, Pro-Trainers Inc., GNC, Rodan and Fields Dermatologist, Silpada Jewelry, Dryven Candles, Zija Protein Shakes, “It Works” Body Wraps, Jamberry Nails, a personal trainer and an independent candlemaker. 

Brackett will offer free chair massages from noon to 2 p.m.

Senior Citizens pig roast

The Annual Pig Roast will be 11-a.m.- 2 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Danville-Boyle County Senior Citizens Center, 569 Jean Drive. There will be great food and live entertainment provided by Wide Country Band.

Lincoln County Library events

  • The Lincoln County Public Library has the following programs scheduled for children:  
  • Toddler Time (ages 18 months-3 years) 10 a.m. Thursdays.
  • Preschool Story hour, 11 a.m. Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. the last Saturday of each month.
  • Primary Readers (Kindergarten through third grade) 5 p.m. Thursdays through Nov. 1.
