Woman admits to marijuana possession
HARRODSBURG — A Harrodsburg woman admitted to police to having marijuana in her possession after being observed shoplifting goldfish crackers Feb. 13.
Suprena Anderson, 24, made the admission after exiting Walmart, where she allegedly walked out without paying for her snack. The marijuana was recovered.
Anderson was charged with theft by unlawful taking and possession of marijuana.
One injured in collision
One man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday in Danville.
About 5:30 p.m., Danville police officers responded to an injury collision on Ky. 52.
A police report said Marvin Johnson, 27, of Lancaster, was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger pickup on Old Lancaster Road. As Johnson approached the intersection with Ky. 52 and attempted to turn left, his vehicle was struck on the right side by a 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by Charles Stafford, 58, of Danville.
Stafford was traveling south on Ky. 52. He was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center where he was treated for unknown injuries and released.
Thieves steal heating and air units
HARRODSBURG — Police are seeking information after a man discovered two heating and air units had been stolen from his rental property on Cane Run Street.
Brian Kendrick, of Harrodsburg, contacted Harrodsburg Police on Feb. 15, after he found that the units were gone. It is uncertain exactly when they were taken, but police said it was sometime between Dec. 1 and Feb. 15.
The approximate value of the two units is $5,000.
Two allegedly shoplift
HARRODSBURG — Two women were stopped by police after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart on Feb. 14.
Amanda Fuller, 26, of Harrodsburg, and Sandra Villegas, 37, of Frankfort, were stopped by police after leaving the store with a purse containing items valuing about $50, which were never paid for and had been, allegedly, placed there by the duo. They were observed by Walmart loss prevention personnel placing merchandise into the empty purse, before they purchased some groceries and left the store.
Both were charged with theft by unlawful taking: shoplifting, which is a misdemeanor.
Action figures, memorabilia stolen
HARRODSBURG — Police were contacted on Feb. 15 by Donnie Case, owner of Rent and Store on Bohon Road, who stated that someone burglarized one of his storage units.
Thieves stole about $1,500 of Hot Wheels cars, action figures and Batman and Ghostbusters memorabilia. It is believed the crime happened in December, but an exact date is unknown. Case explained he was not notified when it occurred.
Harrodsburg Police encourage anyone with information to contact them.
SUV burglarized
HARRODSBURG — One or more thieves broke the window of an SUV on Feb. 15, on Nichols Avenue, stealing a purse from inside.
Harrodsburg Police believe the crime occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Items in the purse included a checkbook, a wallet, about $16 in cash, a credit card and the victim’s Social Security card.
There are no suspects at this time.
Animal hospital property damaged
HARRODSBURG — Police were called to the Harrodsburg Animal Hospital after an employee reported property damage on Feb. 17.
Someone had knocked the heating and air unit off the blocks it was sitting on, broken the cigarette disposal, broken planks from a wooden fence and kicked in the back door, but did not cause damage to it. The heating and air unit was placed back on the blocks, but did not appear to be damaged.
No one was named in this crime.
Collision caused by drunken driver
HARRODSBURG — A driver under the influence caused a head-on collision Monday night.
About 8:15 p.m., Mercer County Sheriff’s Office responded to south U.S. 127 in the Brightleaf area for an injury collision.
Police investigation revealed John F. Sutton of Hustonville, was driving his vehicle the wrong way on U.S. 127 and struck a vehicle head-on driven by Tommy E. Sisk of Danville.
Sutton was charged with first-offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
All injured parties were transported to Haggin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a police report.
Deputy Sean Brown is investigating the collision and was not available for comment at press time today.
