Three charged in pipe theft
STANFORD — Two Boyle County men and a juvenile were arrested Friday after they allegedly were caught trying to steal irrigation piping from a Lincoln County farm.
Sheriff Curt Folger said Nicholas B. Goode, 31, of Junction City, and Nathan T. Griffin, 19, of Danville, were each charged with theft more than $500 and lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
A juvenile also was charged and released to his parents, Folger said.
An unidentified farm owner called Folger about 10:45 a.m. to report that three men were loading irrigation pipes on to a trailer on his property on Short Acres Road in western Lincoln County. Folger responded and made the arrests.
Two arrested on drug charges
CRAB¿ORCHARD — A Crab Orchard couple was arrested Friday night after officers discovered they allegedly were selling illegal opiates from their home.
Sheriff Curt Folger said Jason Whitehead, 29, and Tabitha Whitehead, 26, both of 112 West St. in Crab Orchard were each charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled subtance and lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Folger and three deputies made the arrests about 7:30 p.m. following an investigation.
