The Boyle County Solid Waste Department will accept tires on and off of the rims free of charge 8:30 am.- 3:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the state highway garage on North Stewarts Lane in Danville. Any Boyle County resident is eligible to participate, but tires from retailers won’t be accepted.
Items that won’t be accepted include: foam or calcium filled tires, large off-road construction equipment tires with a bead greater than 1 3⁄4 of an inch and solid tires with pressed-on rims.
The tires are being collected through the Kentucky Waste Tire Amnesty Program. For more information call (859) 238-1116
