HARRODSBURG — Gov. Steve Beshear will make a stop in Harrodsburg today, toting with him an oversized check to help upgrade the city’s YMCA building.
Beshear, along with Commissioner of Local Development Tony Wilder, will present a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant that will allow the YMCA facility on College Street to be thoroughly revamped as part of the larger “Model Block” project to redevelop the area around the YMCA.
The money will be used to install a full line of exercise equipment, create more space for youth programs, make the facility handicapped accessible and add more parking.
The check presentation is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the YMCA.
