 Pauline Murphy, 93, widow of James Lee Murphy of Danville, died Saturday in Spokane, Wash.

James E. Doram

LANCASTER — James E. Doram, 79, of Lancaster, died Sunday.

Born in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Alphonzo Doram and Ann Smith Doram.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie; a daughter, Cheri Smith (Benjamin); grandchildren, Youentte Sleet, Shanda Sleet Brown and Chelby Rogers; great-grandchildren, Tryce Sleet, Dazhon Jackson, Qayla Ali, Melik Brown and Tariq Brown; sisters, Leoa Jackson, Georgia Ray, Victoria Perkins, Donna Wilhite, Joanne Smith and Yvonne Weathers; uncles, Eleazer and Rapleal Doram; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Glenna Sleet, and two brothers, Morris C. Lewis and J. L. Doram.

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Friday until service time.

 

Louise Howard

LANCASTER — Louise Long Howard, 89, of Berea, formerly of Lancaster, died Tuesday. She was the widow of Orville Howard. 

Born in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Rogers Long. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Beech Grove Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a son, Wayne (Donna) Howard of Richmond; a daughter, Phyllis Bray of Berea; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma (Buddy) Hume.
