1919-2013
SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — Ann Pearl VanHook Nichols, 93, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Born April 3, 1919, in Boyle County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Esther Price VanHook, and the widow of Reed Stoddard Nichols.
Mrs. Nichols was an active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and a former associate of Palm Beach Co. She enjoyed cooking, being a member of the Boyle County Homemakers and Rook Clubs, and was quite renowned for her angel food cake.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue Ann Nichols of Saint Petersburg and Brenda N. McCormack of Lexington; three grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Matheny of Ohio, Kelly (Bob) Kinley of Lexington and Karen Somanath of Florida; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by nine siblings, Louis, Orville, Russell, Sam, J.C., Ralph, Nell, Viola and Ruth VanHook.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will follow Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon Friday.
