BOWLING GREEN — Anna Jo Cook Pickens, 85, formerly of Bowling Green, died Saturday.

Born in Sturgeon Creek, Ky., she was a daughter of the late S.M. Cook and Pearl Lynch Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pickens Sr.

With her twin sister, Betty Jo, she achieved fame in the late 1930's as a song-and-dance duo known as the Cook Twins. She taught junior high school for eight years in Elizabethtown and Danville.

Survivors include a son, Jim Pickens Jr. of Owensboro; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; and her twin sister, Betty Jo Gibson of Louisville.

Services are 1:30 p.m. today at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.

Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today.
