LORETTO — Barbara Lucille Ayers Lamkin, 96, of Saint Mary’s, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Village of Lebanon Nursing Home.
Born July 26, 1916, in New Hope and was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Charles Nolan Lamkin Sr.; four sons, John “Kevin” Lamkin, Joseph Stephen Lamkin, Charles Nolan “Sonny” Lamkin Jr. and Thomas Ayers Lamkin; her parents, Joseph Dominic and Mary Sudie Hagan Ayers; a sister, Bertha Ayers; four brothers, William Bernard “GooGoo,” Joseph Fred “Shorty”, Raphael and Fabian Ayers.
Survivors include six daughters, Priscilla Logsdon of Harrodsburg, Mary Wright (John) of Danville, Wanda Dye (Bobby) of Lebanon, Susie Wheatley (Tom) of Bardstown, Martha Ann Reynolds (Robert) of Mesa, Ariz., and Michelle Dunivan (Tommy) of Petersburg, Tenn.; two sons, Bernie Lamkin of Saint Mary’s and Tim Lamkin of Bardstown; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Kotheimer (Carl) of Venice, Fla.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Saint Charles Catholic Church, Saint Mary’s, with interment in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Saint Francis. The Rev. James W. Graf will be the celebrant.
Pallbearers will be Chuckie Dye, Ronnie Lamkin, Luke Wright, Brad Dunivan, Toby Dunivan and Robert Reynolds.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, Ky., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph R. Dant.
