CRAB ORCHARD — Bertram C. “Bert” McGohon, 74, of Stanford, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Fort Logan Hospital. He was the widower of Freda M. Brock McGohon, who preceded him in death on July 21, 2009.
Born Aug. 14, 1938, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the late Grant McGohon and Jamie Baker Newland.
Bert was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. He had worked as a brick mason and was a farmer.
Survivors include first cousins, Ann Barrell, Stacey Keeling, Bill Hale, Mindy Bachnagel, Jennie Norton, Deb Dobbs, Hank Coates, Vicki Folger, Roger Keith Baker Jr., and Nina Ryles; sisters-in-law, Connie Laswell, Iris Coleman and Susan (Paul) Wyler, all of Lancaster; nieces and nephews, Capt. Toney Ray Dollins, Scott Coleman, Jean Brown, Marissa Decker and Christian Wyler; great-nieces and -nephews, Helaina, Christopher and Toney Ray Dollins II, Amber Bustle, Kimberly Jenkins, Chase Smith and Logan Martin.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bert was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Joyce Dollins and Barbara Brown.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at McKnight Funeral¿Home by Bro. Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Coleman, Paul Wyler, Roger K. Baker Jr., Capt. Toney Ray Dollins, Christian Wyler and Toney Ray Dollins III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie and Donna Martin, Roger Meek and Christopher Dollins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel.
