STANFORD — Bertha Williams Vanhook, 86, of Hustonville, Ky., died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Lexington, Ky.
Born Feb. 19, 1926, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Arid and Bessie Williams and was the widow of the late W.O. "Bill" Vanhook. She was a homemaker and a member of Green River Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include a son, Noel Vanhook (Tiffany) of Indianapolis, Ind.; four daughters, Ellen Hunkins (Ron) of Stanford, Ky., Shelia Martin (Huston) of Kings Mountain, Ky., Joan Durham of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Leesa Vanhook of Russell Springs, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Darryl and Billy Vanhook; two sisters, Morene Willis and Luna Walls; and three siblings who died at a very young age.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 13 at Green River Pentecostal Church in McKinney, Ky., with the Rev. Rick Naylor officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.
Casketbearers will be Chris Vanhook, Josh Vanhook, Jeremy Vanhook, Trenton Vanhook, Randall Alford, Heath Alford, Jamie Martin, Chad Durham and Adam Epling. Honorary bearers will be O.C. and Laura May Robbins and Eva Walls.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at the church.
