Christine Ellis Tucker, 88, of Parksville died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Danville. She was the widow of Cozatt “Cody” Tucker.
Born Feb. 26, 1924 in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Tilden and Lettie Maude Noe Ellis. Christine was a member of Parksville Christian Church, a former buyer for the Hub Frankel Company, a retired employee of Farmers National Bank and a charter member of the Forkland Community Center. Christine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they have many memories to cherish. She enjoyed gardening and working with her roses. Christmas was Christine’s favorite time of the year. She would spend her days at The Hub, come home and decorate, bake and enjoy the season.
Christine’s survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Cozy and Donald Helm of Wisconsin, Mary and Gene Hockensmith of Parksville and Martha and Ronald Russell of Danville; five grandchildren, Donald Foster Helm II, Susan Helm Murtagh, Ronald Lynn Russell Jr., Jason Russell and Christian Russell; and five great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hannah Helm, and Ashton, Avery and Caroline Russell.
Services for Christine will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, at Parksville Christian Church by Revs. Julius Hovan and Frank Preston with burial in the Parksville Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home, Perryville.
Active pallbearers will be Ron Russell Jr., Jason Russell, Don Helm, Rory Murtagh, Bobby Joe Ellis and Charlie Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Christine’s granddaughters.
