Delores Jean Sargent
1936-2013
Delores Jean Sargent, 76, wife of Franklin D. Sargent, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.
Born April 21, 1936, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Nannie Hughes Freeman. She was a nurse’s aide at Friendship House and a member of Salt River Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Keith Sargent and Robbie (Peggy) Sargent, both of Danville, and Kenny (Sissy) Sargent of Nicholasville; two daughters, Roxce (Calvin) Carpenter of Perryville and Carolyn (Jimmie) Snow of Moreland; a brother, Robert (Juanita) Freeman, and a sister, Helen Brown, both of Danville; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home with Bro. David Evans officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Del Sargent, Andy Horton, Shawn Sargent, Jamie Snow, Josh Sargent, Ronnie Clarkson, John Campbell and Wyatt Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
