SCIENCEHILL — Deva Marceline Cornett Moore, 73, of Waynesburg, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Born in Casey County on Aug. 24, 1938, she was a daughter of the late McKeith and Edith Williams Stephens. She was a beautician for more than 40 years and a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as WMU director. Deva loved quilting, cooking and especially her family, along with her faith in God.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Moore of Waynesburg; one son, Stephen (Donna) Cornett of Waynesburg; one daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Black of Snellville, Ga.; two stepsons, Dennis (Regina) Moore of Waynesburg and Douglas (Tanya) Moore of Hustonville; three grandsons, Stephen Daniel (Sara) Cornett, Jeffrey Cornett and Bradley Black; one great-granddaughter, Savannah Faith Cornett; four step-grandsons, Robert D. Moore, Jonathan S. Moore, Austin Moore and Jared Moore; one step-granddaughter, Alyssa Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her first husband,WendellCornett, preceded her in death on June 4, 1997. Two brothers, Kearny Stephens and Kenneth Stephens, and two sisters, Deloris Bridenstine and Demaris Smith, also preceded her in death.
Visitation and funeral services were Saturday.
