Doris Jean Walls Wilson, 83, of Junction City died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2012.
Born Jan.17, 1929, in Lincoln County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Alec and Doshia Saylor Walls. She retired after 26 years at Genesco. Doris was the widow of Charlie Jacob Wilson. A member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church, Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and helped anyone she could. She was preceeded in death by two sons, Jeff Wilson and David Elder; and two brothers, Jacob Elder and Donald Walls.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda K. Lane of Parksville and Vicki (Lloyd) Bowling of Junction City; four grandchildren, Travis Clay Terry, Timothy (Marissa) Terry, Jarrett Lane and Casey (Rachel) Bowling; eight great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Brandon and Montana Terry, Evan, Casen and Cami Bowling, Sarah Jones and Kyle Stratton; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lily Ellen Eastwood.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. The Rev. Earnest Fields Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Wilson Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Gwinn, Davis Nevius, Heston Young, Robert Taylor, Buddy Wilson, Rudy Arreola, Kenny Henry and Joel High. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Wilson, Bob Wilson, Delmar Wilson, Luther Stephens and J.C. King.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City.
