Dorothy May Daley Worthington, 91, of Danville, died Friday, June 15, 2012.

Born July 24, 1920, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of Jasper and Bessie Pritchett Daley. Dorothy was the widow of Reece Edgar Worthington and a retired inspector for Palm Beach Co. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and First Baptist Church where she had been active in the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was an assistant to Jim Lester with the Deaf Ministry at First Baptist. She was dependable, faithful and kind to each student, and was a faithful servant to the Lord.  

Dorothy was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Josie Barker, Christine Sclenker, Evelyn Carter, Paul Daley and J. T. Daley.

She is survived by a son, Fred Russell (Sondra) Worthington of Danville; three grandchildren, Shawn Worthington (Michael) Campbell, Jennifer Worthington (Devin) Carlton and F. Nicholas (Amelia) Worthington; two great-grandchildren, Jaylee Elizabeth Carlton and Devin Reece Carlton; and three sisters, Betty Robertson of Danville, Nell Morrison of Cincinnati and Faye Lawson of Moreland.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home. Rev. Albert Gisler will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Worthington, Frank Hogue, Richard Hogue, Garrie Hogue, Mike Campbell, Devin Carlton, Brad Murphy, David Lawson and David Daley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Daley, Irvin Worthington, Bernard Lister, Bill Hainsworth and Becky Myers.  

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
