Franklin Delenor Burns (November 7, 2012)

HARRODSBURG - Franklin Delenor Burns, 70, of Waynesburg, who is survived by his wife, Gussie Faye Howard Burns, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at his residence.

Born Oct. 17, 1942, in Lexington, he was a son of the late Bill and Mary May Collins (Henderson) Burns. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, an active member of American Legion Post No. 345 in Stanford, Ky., where he served as vice commander for several years, and was an employee of the Sleepy Head House, both in Lexington and in Nicholasville, Ky. 

Survivors include his wife, Gussie Faye Howard Burns; a sister, Brenda (Donald) Wilson of Crab Orchard, Ky.; a stepson, Darrell (Hattie) Keeling of Versailles, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Debra Suzanne (Michael) Buck of Johnstown, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Dianne Simpson; and a stepbrother, Robert Burns.

There will be no funeral services or visitation at this time. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky.
