Helen Josephine Hudson Simpson, 92, widow of William Henry Simpson, died Dec. 31, 2012, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 6, 1920, in Indianapolis, Ind., she was a daughter of the late William L. and Sarah Margaret “Sallie” Rodgers Hudson. She was a 1938 graduate of Danville High School and worked at Martin Aircraft Co. during World War II. Helen was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school to 6-year-olds for almost 50 years.
Survivors include a son, William E. (Sue) Simpson of Crescent Springs; a daughter, Mary E. (David) DeMersseman of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Hudson; and a sister, Evelyn Pierce.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Mathis officiating. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be after noon Saturday at Stith Funeral Home.
