Obituary: Jennie Parker (November 28, 2012)

Jennie Miller Parker, 94, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.

Born March 12, 1918, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Walter S. and Carrie Lunsford Miller.

She was a member of the United Women’s Methodist Group and the church choir at Centenary United Methodist Church for more than 30 years.

She loved to bake and won numerous blue ribbons at the Boyle County Fair.  She also taught Sunday school, loved to do missionary work and had lived at McDowell Place in the past where she made many very close and loving friends.

Mrs. Parker is survived by three sons, Herbert L., Edwin L., and Thomas L. Parker; a daughter, Joyce L. Parker; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William D. Parker; a daughter, Bonnie Visty; two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Pastor Quentin Scholtz officiating. Burial will follow in Peters Cemetery in Mackville, Ky.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
