Mr. John Lee Brock, 48, of Brodhead, Ky., husband of Brenda Brock, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Nov. 13, 1963, in Mount Vernon, Ky., he was a son of Margaret Catherine Brock and the late Carl Brock. He was joined in holy matrimony to Brenda Bishop Brock on May 7, 1988, and from their union came two children. He owned his own trucking companies, Brock’s Transportation Inc. and Silver Dollar Express. He enjoyed truck driving, working on trucks, auctions and his kids.
Those left to mourn John include his loving wife of 24 years, Brenda Brock of Brodhead; two children, John Travis Brock and Breanna Leigh Brock, both of Brodhead; his mother, Margaret Brock of Junction City, Ky.; a sister, Brenda Gail (Don) Kidwell of Berea, Ky.; five brothers, Neville Brock and Richard Brock, both of California, Richard Quarrles of Mount Vernon, and Keith Quarrles and Jim Brock, both of Brodhead; a brother-in-law, Kenny Stephens of California; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, Carl Brock; two sisters, Johnetta Brock and Donna Jean Stephens; and a brother, Calvin Quarrles.
Funeral services for Mr. John Lee Brock will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals chapel with Bro. Billy Bryant, Bro. Dewayne Clark and Bro. Don Kidwell officiating. Burial will follow at Negro Creek Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Troy Henry, Mike Blair, Alton Anderson, Leon Nichols, Joe Brown, Gary Cromer and Dewey Vanwinkle. Honorary casketbearers are Raymond Asher, Corey Craig, Tom Wilson, Greg Howard, Austin Barron, Cody Gilbert, Rick Gray and Leon Vickers.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
