SCIENCE HILL — Johnny Mack Chappell, 62, of Stanford, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Crab Orchard on June 7, 1950, to the late John and Alice Buchanan Chappell. He was a factory worker for General Electric.
Survivors include one son, John Raymond Chappell of Cincinnati; one daughter, Julie Michelle Pomeroy of Cincinnati; one brother, Clarene "Buddy" Chappell of Barboursville; three sisters, Mary Lou Sowders of Stanford, Catherine Dishon of Stanford and Fern Godbey of Danville; a special friend, Linda Witt of Stanford; and five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobbie Chappell and Ronald Chappell; and a sister, Ruth Pruitt.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
