Obituary: Marcella Wall (November 26, 2012)

KINGS MOUNTAIN — Marcella Wall, 86, of Kings Mountain, widow of Ervin D. Wall, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1926, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Troy Frazier and Bertha Lanas Thompson Dunaway. Marcella was a teacher for many years at Kings Mountain and Waynesburg schools, and founded the mobile learning school in Lincoln County. She was active in the 4-H program and served on the Lincoln County Fair Board, and was a vital part in the Lincoln County Democratic Party. She was a member of Kings Mountain Christian Church.

Marcella leaves behind two daughters, Bertha Whitaker (Bill) of Danville and Janet Perry (Marvin) of Walltown; a grandson, Robert Lee Perry (Carla) of Salvisa; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer Barber (Tim) of Kings Mountain, Rachael Emerson of Louisville and Abigail Emerson of Walltown; and a great-great-grandson, John Barber of Kings Mountain.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son. Ervin “Kyle” Wall; three brothers, Robert, B.B. and Columbus Dunaway; four sisters, Eunice Dunaway, Isabel Denney, Eleanor Adams and Alvis Huenefeld; and one granddaughter, Tonya Perry Emerson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, with Bro. Greg Powell and Bro. David Shoot officiating the service. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
