HARRODSBURG — Mable Marie Camic Ellis, widow of Horace C. Ellis, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, after a long illness. 

Born March 5, 1924, in Crescent City, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Fleetie Kays Camic. She was a graduate of Fairview High School, received her bachelor of science and master of arts degree in education and guidance counseling, and obtained her Rank 1 in administration, all from Eastern Kentucky University. She taught a total of 36 years, 26 years in the Danville City Schools and the last 13 years as a counselor at Danville High School. She was a member of the Danville and Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations, and Mercer Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Dr. LeMayne (Georgia) Ellis of Harrodsburg; a brother, Roy R. Camic of Danville; a sister, Julia Graham of Harrodsburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dr. David Carson Dolen; three brothers, Morris, Gene and James Thomas Camic; and a sister, Myldred Sims.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012, at Sims Funeral Services by Mike Justice, Craig Simon and Sarah Sue Neiman. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers will be Bill Barnett, Lonnie Harley, Dr. Mack Beto, Jerry Foster, Mike Perros, Dr. Barry Spoonamore, Mike Simms and Walter Lee Goggin. Honorary bearers are members of Mercer Church of Christ.

Visitation will be from noon to the hour of service Sunday at Sims Funeral Services.
