LANCASTER — Mary Hammonds Montgomery, 88, widow of Oakie Montgomery, passed away Thurs., Nov. 1, 2012, at Christian Care Center in Lancaster.
Mary was a daughter of the late Joe and Nannie Hignite Hammonds. She was a homemaker and member of the Hyattsville Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Joe Montgomery (Betty Jane) of Lancaster and Bruce Montgomery (Teresa) of Somerset; a sister, Mary Lucille Pate of Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren, Adam Montgomery (Loretta) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Emily Whitworth (Chris) of Lancaster, and Kristen and Ashley Montgomery of Somerset; and four great-grandchildren, August Montgomery, Salena Montgomery, Clayton Whitworth and Grant Whitworth.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tues., Nov. 6, 2012, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Daryl Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Ray Hammonds, Caywood Metcalf, Roy Reichenbach, Ken Parsons, Chris Whitworth, Adam Montgomery, Michael Hammonds, Rusty Clark and Clay Clark.
