LIBERTY - Mary Jane Scott Barlow, 79, of Liberty, became absent from this body to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.

Born Feb. 2, 1933, in Casey County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late James Lonzie and Nancy Ellen Atwood Scott.

She has left to mourn her passing two daughters and three sons, Norma Neal of Versailles, Darrell Barlow of Liberty, Harvey Barlow of London, Teresa Blythe of Greenwood, Ind., and Marvin Barlow of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Paul Scott of Brooklyn, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of friends to mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Marshall Lee Barlow, who passed away July 16, 2011; a son, Herlin Lee Barlow; seven brothers, Ben, Jack, Sam, Leslie, Pallen, Josh and Caleb Scott; and four sisters, Dellie, Maudie and Mattie Scott, and Alice Passmore.

Mary Jane accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of Brush Creek Pentecostal Church. She was a homemaker and known throughout Casey County for the many fried apple pies she made for friends and families in difficult times.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church with Bro. David Blythe and Bro. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will be in Tapscott Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today  at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. Wednesday until funeral service at Brush Creek Pentecostal Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gideons International or Alzheimers Association.
