Obituary: Mary Williams (December 12, 2012)

Mary Eaton Robertson Williams, 83, of Danville, died Dec. 8, 2012, at her home.

Born Dec. 24, 1928, in Farmville, Va., she was a daughter of Edward David and Mary Garland Robertson. The family moved to Kentucky in 1941, and Mrs. Williams spent the remainder of her life either in Danville or Lexington.

Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and also worked at the Rural Electric Association in Danville and the G.F. Vaughn Tobacco Co. in Lexington. She was active in St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Lexington and Trinity Episcopal Church in Danville.

She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Ben Williams, and their daughter, Mary Freear Williams.

Survivors include a son, David (Connie) Williams of Gravel Switch; a brother, Edward David “Mickey” (Judy) Robertson Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service is 5 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Memorial donations are suggested to Freear’s Hope Foundation of the Commonwealth Cancer Center in Danville.
