Rob E. Langford, 36, of Danville, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Markey Cancer Center, University of Kentucky Medical Center. 

Rob was a native of Danville, born on Sept. 16, 1975. He was a 1994 graduate of Danville High School where he played on two state football championship teams. He was also an active bass tournament fisherman. He fished the Bass Fishing League tournament circuit. In 2004, he qualified for the All-American Bass Tournament in Paducah, Ky. Out of 38,000 fishermen, he was one of the 48 qualified for the BFL All-American tournament in 2005. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a journeyman lineman for Kentucky Utilities in Somerset. He loved his family dearly and accumulated a large group of friends who all touched his life as he touched theirs.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Beverly Langford of Danville, and his birth mother, Pam Stagg of Garrard County; three children, McKenzie Anne Langford, Kadee Beth Langford and Kyle Robert Langford, all of Danville; his grandparents, Bob and Mary Langford of Harrodsburg; and a special friend, Donna Soper of Lexington.  He was predeceased by a grandmother, Mae Adams, and a grandfather, Bill Eugene Deatherage.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Ernest Martin, the  Rev. Eddie Dye and the Rev. Brent Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. 

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
