Robert “Bru” Thornton
Robert E. “Bru” Thornton Jr., 61, died Sunday.
He was a son of the late Robert E. Thornton Sr. and the late Emma Thornton Jarmon. He previously was employed at ATR and Happy Valley Farm.
Robert is survived by the love of his life for 37 years, Jo Ann Metcalf; three daughters, Anita Thornton, LaDonna Thornton and Ebony Thornton; two sons, Michael Thornton and Anthony Letcher; a sister, Mae Harris; a brother-in-law, George E. Whitehead Sr.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. James AME Church.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
