Ruthann Rapier Brown, 82, of Danville, died July 30, 2012. She was the widow of Carlton Brown.
Born July 30, 1930, in Owensboro, she was a daughter of the late Hart and Grace Rapier. Ruthann was a graduate of St. Mary-Of-The-Wood College and University of Kentucky. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church since 1940.
She was a member of the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center auxiliary and the Danville Country Club, where she was the co-founder of the “Tee Cup” Golf Tournament. She loved crossword puzzles, golf, bridge and most of all, her family and friends. Ruthann was predeceased by her husband, Carlton Brown; a brother, James Rapier; two sisters, Jean Dougherty and Frances Montgomery, and a granddaughter, Kendall Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy (Bill) Ruth of Harrodsburg; three sons, Rick (Jane) Brown of Danville, Hart (Lea Anne) Brown of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and David (Christie) Brown of Versailles; eight grandchildren, Brian Ruth, Ben Ruth, Liz Ruth Shearer, Abbie Brown, Addison Brown, Adam Brown, Leah Brown and Andrew Day; one great-grandchild, Halee Ruth; nephews, Todd Rapier, Paul Dougherty Jr. and Danny Montgomery; and nieces, Jean Shutt, Amy Seifert, Kathy Seaberg, Amy Hines, MaryAnne Poole, Lee Ragland and Bill Poole.
A Mass of Remembrance will be 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Boyle County Relay for Life, SS. Peter and Paul Building Fund, or Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
