Obituary: William Jackson (November 28, 2012)

William Henry Jackson, 83, of Danville, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012. 

Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Nicholas County, he was the son of the late Myrtha Stanfield and Robert Lee Jackson.

He was the widower of Opal Jackson and was a sheet metal worker for Hayden & Switzer.

Survivors include his son, William Darrell Jackson of Covington; four daughters, Kathy Willoughby of Stanton, Debra Sue Downey of California, Sandy Shoemaker of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and  Judy Davis of Clay City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his extended family, Crit and Joe Ann Barnes, Cecil and Jolene Hutchinson, Carol Prater and Stewart and Marsha Hutchinson, and a special friend, Dorcas Evans, all of Danville. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Huston Jackson; and his sister, Lorraine Brandenburg.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Kathy Willoughby will officiate. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. 

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday prior to the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana.
