Is it true, or have my eyes deceived me?
Did I really see State Rep. Mike Harmon’s photo in a recently-aired television commercial picturing a legislator who actually opposed legislation (House Bill 1) that would curb the illegal sale and use of prescription drugs?
When I saw this, I just couldn’t believe it.
As someone who has experienced significant financial loss and loss of security at the hands of a prescription drug abuser, and as someone who has become quite concerned at seeing the overwhelming number of individuals tying up our court system and eating up our tax dollars in doing so, I have to say that I truly resent opposition to a legislative effort to end this blight on our state and our community.
My vote is going to the other Harmon.
I have no doubt that if Barry Harmon is elected our next state representative, he will continue to work just as hard as he has for the last 10 years as Boyle County jailer and will continue his fight against the drug abuse that has affected so many of us in one way or another.
Barry Harmon is an honorable man who takes great pride in his community and supports other law enforcement officers in their efforts to clean up the drug mess around here — you know, the ones we read about in the “Police Blotter” every day.
I will certainly offer my apologies if I am mistaken about the identity of the individual I identified as Mike Harmon in the aforementioned commercial, but I don’t believe I’ll have to do that.
If that WAS you, Mike Harmon, shame on you.
