I would like to thank the mayor and city commission for taking on a difficult task and doing it well. I refer to selecting a new city manager. They did it by the book in the proper way. They had a group of applicants. They took the time to study their qualifications. They thought and discussed each one.

Then they thought and discussed some more. We all know it takes time to do a job well. We also know it costs money to do a job well. But that is better than the alternative of doing a sloppy job. I believe they made the best choice, and they alone are empowered to make that decision. Not anyone else. They also did a good job selecting the police chief.

Now they have another difficult task. That of expanding the water plant. Something another commission should have done but did not. It’s time for everyone to support our mayor and commission and stop the bellyaching and nitpicking.
