The Central Kentucky Chapter of the American Red Cross would like to thank those community members who have supported the Red Cross and participated as volunteers, donors and board members. Without their continued commitment, we would not be able to accomplish our mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.
We strive to meet the basic needs of Boyle and Mercer County residents in the event of a disaster. The Red Cross offers assistance in a number of meaningful ways, including, but not limited to, providing temporary shelter, food and clothing. The Red Cross is available to assist 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. When informed of a disaster, we will make every effort to meet the needs of those affected.
In addition to responding to emergencies, the Central Kentucky Chapter takes an active role in disaster preparedness. The chapter participates in local emergency exercises, sets up booths at resource fairs, presents to school groups, and distributes preparedness information on the chapter’s Facebook page and throughout the community. We also provide emergency messaging for our military families and train residents in lifesaving skills such as first aid and CPR.
As with all relationships, communication is the key to success. We work hard to build local partnerships and to stay informed. We are all working for the same cause; the welfare of the people of Boyle and Mercer counties. Together we can create a brighter, more secure future for our citizens.
We would be happy to speak with anyone who would like to know more about the Red Cross and how we are making a difference in our community. The Central Kentucky Chapter has an active and engaged board of directors that includes nine local community leaders. We welcome the opportunity to hear from our citizens and community partners.
