The news is always full of tragic events. Lately, it seems like there has been even more tragedy, and it is especially senseless. First, it was the brutal beating and murder of Danielle Thomas. This crime was exceptionally hard to bear, since Danielle was a local star who was living her life’s dream. When all was cut short by such an unjust crime, it is difficult to even contemplate the brutality of it all.
Then, it was the shooting in the Colorado movie theater that, so far, already has taken a dozen lives and permanently changed several dozen others.
One person has taken her grief and sorrow to task and has laid the foundation for what hopefully will remain a lasting tribute to Danielle. Sarah Young Wilkerson, classmate and friend of Danielle’s, has started a fundraising project that will support a scholarship to help fund local students’ college education in music.
She is selling purple arm bracelets with the message, “Justice for Danielle,” to raise the money for this notable enterprise. Please support her effort and proudly announce that you are voicing a loud call against domestic violence.
