President Obama has said that the leader of Libya, Moammar Gadhafi, “must go.” He also said the military option is on the table.

Military option? Does the president actually mean to suggest yet a third costly war for our already war weary nation and armed forces? Surely not. We need to end the two stupid wars that we’ve been fighting for a decade before we foolishly invade a third nation.

An invasion would not make sense. And such invasion could not be justified. We have zero vital interest in Libya.

It is not for Barack Obama and the United States to decide if Gadhafi goes or stays. That is for the people of Libya and they alone to decide. It is none of our business.

Oh, but this is America. We must make it our business. Right? We must dictate to the people of Libya how to live. What to do with their own lives and country, just like we’ve already done. After all, the world is ours to rule and control. Right?

In case no one has taken notice, all of this is beginning to backfire on us. Through these kinds of really stupid actions, the United States has now earned far more enemies than it has friends. No one likes a meddler or a bully.

I’ve said it over and over, the United States must stop trying to police the world. It is not in our best interest. Just what is our deadly and unnatural attraction to war? Why the obsession with war? This is such an ugly side of America.

We are at war constantly. And, our wars get longer and more costly.

I don’t like the hawkish talk from President Obama. It’s foolish. The absolute last thing America needs is a third war to contend with.

Little wonder our nation is in deep trouble. Why can we not just stop trying to influence the outcome of internal affairs in other nations? Don’t we have enough to deal with here? We would do well to deal with our own affairs, and let other nations deal with theirs.
