Report: Zimmerman said 'punks,' not slur, in call to cops, lawyers say

A difficult-to-understand phrase in George Zimmerman's call to police continues to be a subject of debate, but Zimmerman's attorneys weighed in for the first time on Thursday.

Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner, lawyers for Zimmerman, told CNN that the Neighborhood Watch volunteer said "punks," not a racial epithet as some have claimed.

Tom Owen, chair emeritus for the American Board of Recorded Evidence, came to the same conclusion.
