Centre Sports: Colonels lacrosse, baseball earn wins
The Centre College women’s lacrosse team led by three goals at the half and made it stand for an 18-15 win over visiting Berry College on Saturday.
Meg Hawthorne scored nine goals, Emily Madden had four and Sarah Mastey added two for the Colonels (4-4). Hawthorne, Annie Jonakin, Emily Madden and Mastey each had an assists
Centre led 11-8 at the half. The Colonels held a 41-26 edge in shots, and Lauren Esterle had six saves.

Baseball
Centre 7, Rowan 2 — At Demorest, Ga., Joe Nash tossed a complete-game four hitter, striking out two and walking nine in the Colonels’ win over No. 6 Rowan.
Cameron went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Aaron Ammann had a double and drove in two runs and Charlie Holland, Jason Osterman and Phil Brilli all drove in a run for Centre (9-8).
Rowan led 2-0 before Centre scored three in the top of the fourth inning. Fishman had an RBI single, Holland drove in a run on a fielder’s choice and Brilli singled home a run as Centre took the lead for good. The Colonels tacked on a run in the fifth, two more in the sixth, and another in the seventh.
