After leading the team in hitting this season, Centre College catcher Cameron Fishman was named to the all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball first team.
Fishman, a senior who was named all-SCAC¿honorable mention as a freshman in 2009, led the Colonels with a .382 batting average, the highest by a Centre player since the 2009 season, when Jeffrey Williams hit .404. He also ranked second on the team in RBIs (26) and on-base percentage (.453) in 102 at-bats over 31 games.
Four other Colonels received honorable mention on this year’s team: junior shortstop Aaron Ammann (.328, 8 doubles, 21 runs), sophomore outfielder Kyle Cook (.333, 4 home runs, 27 RBIs), sophomore third baseman Charlie Holland (.323, 16 RBIs, 20 runs) and sophomore pitcher Kyle Neu (4-4, 1 save, 4.31 earned-run average, 44 strikeouts, 56.3 innings, three complete games).
This is the eighth consecutive season the Colonels (14-24, 4-10 SCAC) have placed at least four players on the all-conference team, and the sixth time with at least five selections.
