Golf: Danville's Campbell seventh entering final round of Kentucky State Amateur

Tom Campbell of Danville was in seventh place entering today’s final round of the Kentucky State Amateur at Simpsonville.
Campbell, the men’s golf coach at Centre College, shot 2-under-par 69 on Wednesday at the Cardinal Club and was 1 under par through 36 holes.
He was six strokes off the lead held by Patrick Newcomb of Benton, and he and Chris Hill of Danville were the only two of seven area players in the field to make the cut, which was at 151.
