Former Burgin coach Don Irvine scored a win against his old school Wednesday night, leading the Western Hills girls to a 61-55 victory over Burgin at Frankfort.
Irvine was coaching against a Burgin team for the first time since he retired from the school in May. He came out of retirement in September to take over at Western Hills.
Burgin (8-7) took a 42-41 lead into the fourth quarter, when Western Hills (6-7) outscored the Bulldogs 20-13.
Randi Burke and Liz Marcinek led Burgin with 20 points each.
Taylor Slade scored 26 points for Western Hills.
Irvine coached the Burgin boys from 1986-89 and 2003-12, and he coached the school’s boys and girls teams simultaneously from 2006-08.
