Laura McQueen shot a match-low 38 Monday to lead Casey County to a 176-178 win over Boyle County at Old Bridge.
Samantha Stewart led Boyle with a personal-best 39.
“Coach (Sharon) Beasley and I are pleased with the scores we saw this evening in our first match of the season,”¿Boyle coach Sandy Waters said. “We had a mixture of varsity and jayvee players for this match and saw some good shots by both. The Casey County players were ready to play.
“Coach Sarah Christian is doing a fantastic job with the program. Like Boyle, she has several young players who are working hard to improve. We look forward to our next match with them at the end of the month.”
Boys Golf
Jarman ties for second — At Shelbyville, Dakota Jarman shot a 71 and tied for second place at the Shelby County Invitational at Weissinger Hills Golf Course. Ben Kendrick shot a 77. He and Jarman were competing as individuals.
