Shannon Murray scored three goals as the Mercer County girls defeated Pulaski County 4-0 in their regular-season finale Thursday at Harrodsburg.
Samantha Travillian had two assists and Nikki Wilham had one assist on Murray’s goals, which helped Mercer (12-5-1) record its eighth shutout victory and hand Pulaski (5-7-2) its fifth shutout loss.
Murray also assisted on a goal by Gentry Brown.
North Laurel 0, Danville 0, tie — At Danville, Danville (7-7-3) played North Laurel (7-10-2) to a draw to finish the regular season at .500.
The Admirals outshot the Jaguars 7-0 and had a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks, and North Laurel goalkeeper Kendall Ellington had five saves.
Bardstown 1, Boyle County 0 — At Bardstown, Bardstown (11-4-1) handed No. 21 Boyle (11-5-3) its fifth shutout loss.
The teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half, and Bardstown scored on a rebound off a corner kick in the second.
“We had opportunities to tie later in the half, but Bardstown’s goalkeeper was able to make two very strong plays against Chelsea Gill to keep her finishing,” Boyle coach Brian Deem said. “Chelsea did everything right, the keeper just made great plays, and that’s the way the game goes sometimes.”
