Atlanta Area School for the Deaf outlasted Kentucky School for the Deaf 61-51 Saturday at Thomas Hall to sweep a two-game, two-night series between the teams.
The Panthers outscored the Colonels 61-51 to win by almost the same score as the night before, when they won 61-50 in regulation.
Adam Turner had career highs with 28 points and 23 rebounds for KSD (5-17).
The Colonels led 25-10 in the second quarter but could not hold the lead in large part due to their 45 turnovers, as AASD (12-5) drew even in the third quarter.
Dillon Maynard returned from a knee injury to post 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals for KSD, which lost in its first overtime game since 1996, when it dropped a 77-72 double-overtime decision to Mississippi School for the Deaf.
The Colonels were 20 for 51 from the field and had 52 rebounds, but they made only 10 of 23 free throws.

Girls
Danville Christian 51, Bethel Christian 13 — At Harrodsburg, DCA (13-9) tied the school single-season record for wins with its easy victory over Leitchfield-based Bethel (6-12).
Kristen Asmus scored 23 points to lead the Warriors, who led 23-6 after going 11 for 18 in the first quarter and never looked back.
Asmus went 3 for 7 from 3-point range and 10 for 17 overall from the field, and the Warriors shot 42 percent (22 for 52) overall and were 3 for 8 from 3-point range.
“We were clicking on all cylinders for the entire game, only the second time all season that everyone played well on the same night,” DCA coach Jamie Middleton said. “We blitzed them 23-6 right out of the gate aginst their press. Our girls brought the same high intensity level the entire game, while taking Bethel completely our of their offense.”
Bethel did not score in the second half as Asmus and fellow seniors Carrie Crawford, Katherine Raines and Reagan Weiskircher enjoyed a win in their senior night game.
“(They) have given blood, sweat, and tears in building this program from the ground up, and I am overjoyed that they were able to see their hard work pay off on their senior night — and to do it with alumni and relatives packed into the gym made it even more special,” Middleton said.
Raines and Becca Tarter had six rebounds each to help DCA outrebound Bethel 30-21. Weiskircher scored eight points, Crawford had six assists and Tarter and Shayla Smith had four steals each.
Atlanta Area School for the Deaf 29, Kentucky School for the Deaf 21 — At Danville, Kaley Vickers scored 10 points and Jade Bell added eight for KSD (0-18), which was within 20-19 when the fourth quarter began but could not overcome AASD for its first win.
