LONDON -- Kobe Bryant rallied from a scoreless first half with six 3-pointers and LeBron James added a triple double as the U.S. men's basketball eliminated pesky, physical Australia 119-86 in a quarterfinal Wednesday night at North Greenwich Arena.
The U.S. advances to face Argentina, which defeated Brazil earlier. Russia-Spain is the other semifinal. Bryant missed his first five shots before going nuts in the second half, including three straight 3-pointers at one point and 12 points in just over a minute. He finished with 20 points.
James finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.
"I’m proud of the win," James said. "That¿s all that matters to me. I don¿t really care about me statistically what I do. I¿m just happy to move on."
Deron Williams added 18 points off the bench.
