Her husband, Ron Shapiro, may have been the honoree at the American Red Cross "Hometown Heroes" event, but Kathryn Shapiro, 62, looked stellar herself at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall that night. The spiritual book author sported a red knit faux wrap tunic from westonwear.com with a white-on-black polka dot silk pencil skirt she'd had for years. The Butler resident added nude patent leather Stuart Weitzman pumps and a vintage black leather Chanel bag that was a hand-me-down from her aunt 35 years ago. To complete the ensemble, Shapiro had on pearl button stud earrings that were a gift and a charm bracelet that features photos of all 10 of her grandchildren. "I always wear it," she said. One of the reasons she likes what she calls her "classic eclectic" style? "I like things that work for many years," she said. "So, I don't have to shop."
