Amy Elias, 55, is the epitome of city sophisticate, in a style the Roland Park resident describes as "very classic and very understated." The president of Profiles, a public relations/marketing firm, arrived at the Chris Benz cocktail party at Ruth Shaw in an oh-so-cool combination sweater and jacket by Veronica Beard, which she'd purchased at Ruth Shaw. The sweater front and removable hand-warmer sleeves could be zipped off the gray tweed blazer. Her black flared Piazza Sempione pants are one of four pairs she bought 10 years ago at Neiman Marcus, which have been winter staples ever since. She picked up her black patent leather round-toe Christian Louboutin pumps at Barneys New York, and her black and white diamond hoop earrings in Italy. When it comes to what's in her wardrobe, it's all about simple investment pieces. "I don't like prints, or flowery [things]. If I like a color, it's one strong color. And I love white T-shirts. There's something very clean and fresh about them."
