Blue Grass Energy announces three organizational changes, effective immediately. Barry Drury, district manager, has been named vice president of Energy Solutions; Robert Farmer, district manager, has been named vice president of operations; and Carol Higdon, district manager, has been named vice president of member services.
“It’s my privilege to promote these three veteran employees,” said Mike Williams, Blue Grass Energy president and CEO. “This reorganization allows us to utilize the expertise we have on staff to continue serving our membership, the cooperative way.”
Drury’s responsibilities will focus on corporate communications and energy efficiency initiatives. Drury joined Blue Grass Energy in 1988 as a marketing and engineering representative and later was promoted to manager of member services. In 1998, Drury was named district manager. Drury also is a director for the Woodford County Farm Bureau and is a member of the Lawrenceburg-Anderson County Economic Development Authority.
As vice president of operations, Farmer maintains oversight of maintenance and construction of line operations. Farmer joined Blue Grass Energy in 1973 as a line technician and held several operations positions before being named district manager in 1992. Farmer also serves as chairman of the Madison County Planning and Zoning Commission.
Higdon is responsible for member relations and accounts. Higdon began her career at Blue Grass Energy in 2003 as district manager.
Before coming to Blue Grass Energy, she worked at a sister electric cooperative in western Kentucky, and was president and general manager for Kentucky Telecommunications in Owensboro.
Higdon is a director with the Cynthiana Lions Club, and is active with the Cynthiana/Harrison, Scott and Pendleton Counties’ Chambers of Commerce.
