County calendar for April 26

— The Habitat for Humanity golf scramble will take place Friday, May 18, at Lone Oak Golf Club. All proceeds will go toward building homes for those who need a “hand up.” Check-in is at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Lunch will be served. For more information, call Habitat at 859-881-0045.

— Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, located at 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, is seeking volunteers to help in many areas of the facility. Areas include visiting with residents, working in the gift shop or craft room, providing general office assistance, assisting residents with activities, reading to residents and escorting residents to appointments. — This year’s remembrance butterfly release, sponsored by Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, will be hosted by Lighthouse Baptist Church, 105 Shun Pike, Nicholasville, and held May 22 at 6 p.m. We will be remembering our loved ones who have experienced a new beginning in death. A service of remembrance will be held honoring those who have left our sight but not our hearts with the releasing of butterflies at the conclusion. — The Jessamine County Cancer Buddies group would like to extend an invitation to anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer and all the survivors of it. The group hopes to help out with all the needs of those stricken with cancer. JCCB meets at 6:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month in the J.D. Legends meeting room.

— First Assembly of God, 1701 Wilmore Road, hosts a men’s fellowship breakfast at 9 a.m. every second Saturday of the month.
